The Infancy of a Demo Car - 4-26/07

So Weird Al Yankovic is coming to town for the OC Fair this summer - I caught this on his MySpace site a couple of months ago. While surfing the OC Fair's website, I saw that their having another Demolition Derby this summer. I think I've been the past two years and have loved watching the carnage. I use to enjoy going to Dillon to watch the Demolition Derby each summer when I lived in Montana. My mom's old car was used in a Demolition Derby up there after I left town.

Well, I think this year is the year to give it a whirl. It's on my to do list and since I can't afford to race, maybe this will be the next closes thing. I have mentioned it to a couple of people and Brad S. & Jorge (my girlfriend Danielle's friends from her kickball team - Tang) express interest.

I have the paperwork for the derby - entry form & rules. Let's see if we can make this happen.

A little Catchup

I started a new job back on 8/9/06 as a Project Manager for Premier Business Centers. It's going pretty good. I'm learning something new almost everyday. They seem to like me here....I got a 14% raise after 30 days! The job is located in Irvine across the street from the Airport. I'm still living in Huntington Beach and have a girlfriend currently that lives in Mar Vista (LA) - more about her later.

Chase/Smash-up Scene

I just watched "The Island" - man there is an awesome car chase scene, more realistic then the Matrix stuff. Freaking old train wheels falling off a truck and smashing up what looked like Dodge Magnums. Then it was followed up by a speeder bike chase that sounded just like the speeder bikes in "Return of the Jedi". I have just moved "The Transporter" car chase into second.

More Confidence

I had my corrective eye surgery done yesterday & today I can see without glass. There is still a lot of healing to do, but I think they will heal nicely. I had my procedure done at Coastal Laser Vision by Dr. Tran. I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

TIE...cha, ching

I got a little stock tip from a friend in late March regarding titanium. I did a little research and found a few companies that produce titanium - NUE, TIE, RTI, CSR, ATI. After a little analysis by another friend of the companies I found, I picked Titanium Metals Corp. On March 30th, I bought in for 25 shares @ $49.31. At this time I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm looking forward to some additional titanium purchases as well as aerospace & dividend based stocks.

It's good to be able to play with my stock investments again.

Taking care of Business

It's not like last year (2005) wasn't a year of change for me, but 2006 is turning out to be one as well. This year (Jun'05-Jun'06) I'm 35 and never married with no children. Well, I figured out that it's not the women, but probably me that needs to make some changes in my life if I'm going to ever have a family. So, here are a few more things I'm doing to change my life: took the Notary Public test (should know if I passed in the next couple of day, if not, I'll take it again), taking a motorcycle training course (to get my motorcycle drivers license), this coming week I'm going to have Lasek eye surgery. I'm also debating getting a tattoo, I've finally figured out what I would be okay with tattood on my body for the rest of my life. Oh, I'm also losing weight (gave a friend $200 at the beginning of March - 216 lbs and if I get to 200 lbs by the end of April, I get the money back). It's not going so well, but I'm a procrastinator, don't count me out yet. I believe that no glass and less weight will give me a little more confidence to approach women.

Time for Change

Well it's been a little while I know since writing. I'm 35 and never married. This is the year for change. I signed up the the Landmark Forum this past December (3.5 days of intense interpersonal reflection). I think it has helped me over come some of my issue, but the people that I have met in the following seminar series (following the Forum) have helped me a lot as well.

Oh yeah, I have also been "unempolyed" since the beginning of January. My next-door neighbor Tom has helped me a lot with this break from the office environment. He is show me a new trade.
